Video Poker is a favored game that is able to be gambled on in casinos around the globe, or in your house on your PC, using a web connection. The rules are absolutely simple and consist of the player trying to get the best assemblage of cards as you can in order to win money. In this respect it’s much the same as a classic game of poker, without the involvement with competing players. Of course, techniques employed during a real-life game of poker, such as tricking, will be useless here.
The game of Video Poker starts when the player inserts credits (whether it’s tokens, credit slips or money) into the video poker machine and pushes the draw button. A five card hand will then be electronically ‘given out’ on the screen.
The Video Poker game also has hold buttons, and players will need to now decide which cards to keep and which to throw away. For the cards the bettor wishes to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can choose to keep any number of cards they want, from all to none.
After the gambler has chosen which cards he wishes to keep, the player will then press ‘draw’, at which point any fresh cards will be handed out if desired. The round is now finished, with the Electronic Poker machine scanning the cards to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands shown on the payment schedule.
Typically, the lowest winning hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money increasing for each and every better hand. A common list of winning hands begins with jacks or better, moving on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It is obvious that the payout schedule can vary from machine to machine, so that skillful bettors are able to pick the most money-making ones each and every time.
Once the initial round has completed, the player can either decide to continue on in an attempt to increase their earnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any credits that might been won. Further, some styles of the game give the gambler an opportunity to double their winnings, in which case another round is played. There are also differences between individual machines, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other differing aspects to increase playability.
