Electronic Poker is a beloved game that can be gambled on in casinos around the world, or in your house on your personal computer, through a web connection. The rules are very simple and consist of the player attempting to achieve the highest combination of cards as you can in order to come away with money. In this respect it is much the same as a regular game of poker, minus the interaction with other players. Of course, tactics used in a real-life game of poker, like tricking, will be useless in Video Poker.

The game of Electronic Poker begins when the bettor inserts credits (whether it’s tokens, credit slips or cash) into the video poker machine and pushes the deal button. A five card hand will then be electronically ‘dealt’ on the screen.

The Video Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ printed on them, and bettors will need to now pick which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the player would like to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can decide to keep any amount of cards they wish, whether it is all or none.

After the player has decided on which cards she would like to keep, they should press ‘draw’, at which point any fresh cards will be dealt if desired. The hand is now completed, with the Video Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands listed in the payout schedule.

Generally, the minimum winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money increasing for each and every better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, moving on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It should be known that the payout schedule can range from machine to machine, so that discerning enthusiasts are agile enough to choose the most money-making ones each time.

As soon as the initial round has finished, the player can either decide to continue on and try to to increase their winnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any cash that might have been won. Additionally, some versions of the game allow the enthusiast a chance to double their profits, in which situation another hand is played. There are also variations between specific machines, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other varying elements to increase playability.
