The hand is now completed, with the Video Poker machine analyzing the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands shown on the pay out schedule.
Normally, the lowest succeeding hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money growing for each and every better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It definitely goes without saying that the payout schedule can vary from game to game, so that skillful players are agile enough to select the most money-making machine each instance.
After the initial round has completed, the player can either choose to continue on in an attempt to maximize their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any credits that they may have won. Additionally, some versions of the game give the gambler an opportunity to double their wins, in which instance a further round is played. There are also differences among individual games, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other varying aspects to increase playability.
