Electronic Poker is a favored game that can be played in casinos all over the world, or in your house on your PC, using a net account. The game rules are very straightforward and consist of the player attempting to achieve the greatest combination of cards possible in order to win money. In this respect it’s very similar as a regular game of poker, apart from the line of contact with competing players. Of course, techniques used in a real-life game of poker, such as tricking, will be useless here.
The game of Video Poker starts when the bettor inserts credits (either tokens, credit slips or money) into the video poker machine and presses the play button. A 5 card hand will be "dealt" on the video screen.
The Electronic Poker machine also has buttons with ‘hold’ printed on them, and players should now decide which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the enthusiast would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can choose to keep any number of cards they want, from all to none.
After the bettor has selected which cards he would like to keep, the player will then press ‘deal’, which will mean that any new cards will be needed they will be dealt. The game is now completed, with the Electronic Poker machine analyzing the cards to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands shown on the payment schedule.
Typically, the minimum succeeding hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money growing for each better hand. A list of common winning hands starts with jacks or better, moving on to 2 pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It is obvious that the payment schedule can range from machine to machine, so that skillful enthusiasts are able to select the most money-making game each instance.
Once the initial round has played out, the player can either decide to remain on and try to to increase their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any money that they may have won. Additionally, several versions of the game allow the player a chance to double their wins, in which situation another game is played. There are also variations among individual games, with some decks of cards including wild cards and other differing characteristics to enhance playability.
