Video Poker is a favored game that usually will be gambled on in casinos around the globe, or in your house on your personal computer, through a net connection. The regulations are very straightforward and consist of the player trying to get the best mixture of cards as you can in order to come away with cash. In this respect it’s much the same as a regular game of poker, minus the interaction with any other players. Of course, techniques used in a physical game of poker, such as tricking, will be useless here.

The game of Video Poker begins when the bettor puts credits (whether it is tokens, credit slips or cash) into the machine and pushes the draw button. A 5 card hand will be electronically ‘given out’ on the screen.

The Video Poker machine also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and enthusiasts should now pick which cards to hold and which to discard. For the cards the bettor wishes to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they light up. The player can decide to keep any number of cards they wish, from all to none.

After the bettor has chosen which cards he or she wishes to retain, the player will then press ‘deal’, which will mean that any new cards are needed they will be dealt. The game is now finished, with the Electronic Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands shown on the payout schedule.

Typically, the lowest succeeding hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money getting larger for each better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It should be known that the pay out schedule can vary from game to game, so that experienced players are agile enough to choose the most beneficial game each and every time.

As soon as the initial round has finished, the player can either decide to stay on in an attempt to increase their earnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any cash that they may have won. Further, several styles of the game give the player an opportunity to double their wins, in which case another round is played. There are also variations between individual games, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other differing characteristics to enhance playability.
